Friday's Fare: Ultimate Party Meatballs

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit      - 1 Peter 3:18

This has been one of my favorite easy recipes for several years now. Only three ingredients, and you have deliciously sweet and tangy meatballs. The recipe is called "Ultimate Party Meatballs" and I'm sure they would be a hit at any party, but they've never made it that far at my house! I guess we would call it "Ultimate Family Meatballs"?

You could certainly make this recipe on your stove top in a large pan or dutch oven, but I throw it all in my crockpot and ignore it for a few hours until dinnertime. Add some mashed potatoes or rice, some veggies and you have another super easy weeknight meal.

Ultimate Party Meatballs
(adapted from a Heinz/Ocean Spray recipe advertisement)

24 oz. fully cooked, reduced sodium meatballs
1 can jellied cranberry sauce (14 oz.)
1 bottle chili sauce (12 oz.)

Pour frozen meatballs into crockpot. In medium bowl, mix together cranberry sauce and chili sauce. Pour over meatballs and lightly stir to coat. Cook on low for 6 hours.

Enjoy!

  1. Ooooh, these look so good! I've made a similar recipe with grape jelly in place of the cranberry sauce and I'm really looking forward to trying them this way. Thanks for sharing them! ~Mary

  2. I've fixed them with grape jelly and barbeque sauce. Yummy! And I always want mashed potatoes when I serve these as dinner. Not so much if I'm taking them to a party. Thanks for sharing!

  3. We make this same recipe in our family. They are always served on Christmas Eve before church. Every time I have ever made them for a party, they seem to disappear!
