Shopping Saturday: Bug Jar!

Welcome to my third edition of Shopping Saturday! I love to shop. I love finding great bargains and products that make life less frustrating. Sometimes it's hard to find a product that actually does what it claims, and unfortunately I've wasted a lot of money on products that definitely did not live up to my expectations. When I find a product that DOES meet or exceed my expectations, I want to tell everyone I can, so each week I am going to share my finds with you!

Please know that these are products that I purchased only because I or my family needed them. I am not receiving them for free from a company, and I have not been asked to review these products. (I also am not wasting my husband's hard earned money on purchasing random items for blog posts!) I'm all about saving money, not wasting money - both mine and yours!

This Weeks Featured Item is the Insect Lore Best Ever Bug Jar!

My son received this bug jar as a present last year and boy, has it gotten a workout! It has temporarily housed pill bugs, stick bugs, large slugs, frogs, and most recently a baby gecko! (who I unfortunately had to bury this morning, but it wasn't the bug jar's fault!) Minus the dead gecko we have had lots of fun catching things to observe. (always releasing them the next morning!)

What I love about this bug jar? The lid screws on so it's secure - no bugs, frogs, or lizards will be escaping in your home to terrorize you at night. It has ample air flow through the mesh top so you're also not worried about the poor things dying of oxygen deprivation. And the mesh top also allows you to add some water after you've already caught your new little friend. Lastly, the plastic is shatterproof and very clear so you can really observe your catch up close. My only complaint - the handle does not stay on very well. In fact, my son has ditched the handle into his toy bin and just carries around the jar without a handle. To me it's a very small price to pay for an otherwise sturdy and secure bug keeper! I'd buy another one in a nano-second if something ever happened to ours!
