Shopping Saturday: Phone Apps!

Welcome to my second edition of Shopping Saturday! I love to shop. I love finding great bargains and products that make life less frustrating. Sometimes it's hard to find a product that actually does what it claims, and unfortunately I've wasted a lot of money on products that definitely did not live up to my expectations. When I find a product that DOES meet or exceed my expectations, I want to tell everyone I can, so each week I am going to share my finds with you!

Please know that these are products that I purchased only because I or my family needed them. I am not receiving them for free from a company, and I have not been asked to review these products. (I also am not wasting my husband's hard earned money on purchasing random items for blog posts!) I'm all about saving money, not wasting money - both mine and yours!

This Weeks Featured Items Are iPhone Apps!

YouVersion Bible
Yes, I finally gave up my prepaid flip phone and joined the masses by buying an iPhone. And you know what? I'm hooked. It's amazing! And my favorite app is FREE! It's the YouVersion Bible by LifeChurch.tv. I now have a Bible with me at all times! On Sunday mornings I don't have to remember to grab my print version or my Kindle - my Bible is already in my purse and ready to go.

This Bible is easy to use, and comes with lots of great features! First, it has 200+ versions of the Bible to choose from and in multiple languages. Second, you can download your favorite version so that it works offline and is ready to read whether you have access to wifi or not! It also offers Bible reading plans, and it allows you to bookmark, highlight, and take notes. The YouVersion Bible is also available for the Kindle, and online.

NOAA Radar US
My other favorite app is the NOAA Radar US . The weather changes a little too often where we live and I hated shopping leisurely in a store only to hear thunder. My mind would start to wonder if it was nothing to worry about, or should I go home to avoid hail damage to my car. This little $1.99 app has already come in handy several times. You just click on the icon and it automatically pulls up your local radar. You can easily zoom in or out for more or less detail, and with the click of a button see the current temperature and forecast. It's hard to tell in my photo, but the detail of the map is excellent!

What are your favorite iPhone apps?

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.   -James 1:5 (KJV)
