God Knows What We Need

Psalm 70

King James Version (KJV)
MAKE HASTE, O GOD, TO DELIVER ME; MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME, O LORD. Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.  Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.  Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.

So...my heart was hurting when I posted the last post. And isn't it funny how God knows just what you need to hear sometimes? At church this morning the pastor preached on Psalm 70. In it David is hurting and crying out to God. I took two things from his sermon, and they meant so much to me that I had tears in my eyes when listening to him this morning. He said that God knows when we are hurting, and that he hurts too along with us. He does not want us to feel any kind of pain, but sometimes it is necessary for good to happen. Be it within our own soul, or to help someone else. God will not rest until everyone that can be saved or turn their life around has that chance.

The second thing he said was that when we come to God with our trials and hurts, that he will respond in one of two ways. He either will (1) fix the problem for us, or (2) he will allow the trial to continue, but he will alter us to be able to endure that trial. But we have to have full faith in God that his perfect will be done in our lives. The local Christian radio station has started an acronym for twitter and facebook. It's #FROG - Fully Rely On God. I think it's perfect.

God Bless.
